The process of globalization, also known as internationalization, is the intertwinning of economies and markets all over the world. As markets become increasingly international, seemingly localized events can have global impact. For example, the Asian market Crisis of 1997 roiled financial markets around the world, triggering a financial crisis in Brazil about two week later.

Countries, once isolaed by a lack of land-line telephone installation, now have access to global communications and the Internet through wireless network.
